A sinkhole that heavily damaged a condominium complex in La Jolla has resulted in 14-million dollars in settlements.
The San Diego City Council has agreed to pay $4 million dollars to nine condo owners at the La Jolla Terrace Condominiums. In August, the city approved paying $10 million to settle the claims from the homeowners’ association and a tenth condo owner.
The final payout comes more than three years after a stormwater drainpipe failed near the condo complex.
The sinkhole caused several buildings to shift, cracking foundations, dislodging doors and windows and eventually forcing residents to evacuate. The settlement now ends all litigation
