FAIR OAKS, Calif. —
A Dutch Bros Coffee in Fair Oaks is closed Thursday after a car crashed into the shop, officials said.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Dutch Bros on Madison Avenue and Kenneth Avenue.
The driver lost control, hit a fire hydrant and then smashed into the building, according to California Highway Patrol. Officers said they suspect that the driver was under the influence.
Employees who showed up for work told KCRA 3’s Melanie Wingo their manager told them they’d have to close for the day due to damage outside and inside the shop.
They showed Melanie the damage, including cups and straws on the floor and an espresso machine pushed so forcefully that it almost fell off the counter. Employees also said a water line was damaged.
