The Los Angeles Dodgers are the best team in baseball and they’ve held that title for the last two years as they’ve won two World Series titles in as many seasons.

This offseason, the Dodgers could add as much talent as any team in the game. They’re reportedly interested in adding talent like Kyle Tucker in free agency. The Dodgers could also be in the market for a big trade or two. But before they could add any talent, they lost a World Series champion to free agency.

Dodgers All-Star Tony Gonsolin has cut ties with the team after it was announced that he cleared waivers and elected free agency this offseason.

Gonsolin underwent elbow surgery earlier this year and likely won’t be ready by next year. Even if he is available for the back half of the season, it would be in a limited role.

The Dodgers had no use for Gonsolin at this point. They’re likely going to continue to chase talent in free agency, which could result in the Dodgers adding more pitching talent. After elbow surgery, Gonsolin’s time with the team was seemingly over.

He has a chance to land a two year deal with a new team in free agency, though. There should be a handful of teams willing to take a chance on the veteran righty.
