The San Jose Sharks are 7-7-1, not 1-13-1.

It’s not time to replace a coaching staff that led a 34-point improvement last season.

(Yes, Macklin Celebrini having an MVP-caliber campaign was a huge part of that, but the coaches also got a lot out of an overall below-average roster.)

That said, through 15 games, there are serious concerns with how the Sharks are playing.

The coaches deserve a chance to figure it out.

San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky admitted on Saturday that there was a lack of buy-in from some of his players.

“We got to work on that,” he said.

Per Stathletes, a couple of my biggest concerns were spotlighted in a 5-1 yesterday afternoon to the Ottawa Senators. The Sharks have lost three of their last four and did not play particularly well in any of those games.

So when is a small sample size not small anymore?

“15, 20 games, I’d say is a good number,” Warsofsky said recently.

Through 15 games, here are a couple foundational 5-on-5 areas where the Sharks are struggling.
