(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office confirm that the human remains found in October are those of Lovett “LJ” Moore, a blind man who went missing in 2025.

Moore, 33, was last seen on June 28, 2025, at a gas station in the 3200 block of Arena Boulevard wearing a green shirt and black shorts with a white stripe, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Police confirm that his remains were found shortly before 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 26 near E. Commerce Way and Tanzanite Avenue.

Moore, who was legally blind, was reportedly seen on surveillance footage with three people walking him out of a store and toward a vehicle.

Sacramento City Councilmember Lisa Kaplan’s office told FOX40 last week that they believed the remains were Moore’s and were just waiting for confirmation.

The investigation into his death is ongoing.
