(KRON) — Police in San Jose announced Wednesday that five more arrests have been made in connection with the violent smash-and-grab robbery that occurred in early September at Kim Hung Jewelry. Total arrests in the case now sit at 13 after eight others were previously arrested in October.

On Sept. 5, just after 2 p.m., a vehicle rammed through the business’s front door at 1904 Aborn Road. In less than a minute, a mob of suspects smashed display cases, stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and fled in several vehicles. During the robbery, one victim inside the jewelry store had a firearm pointed at him, and another victim, an elderly man, was forcefully shoved to the ground.

The elderly victim was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries, the San Jose Police Department said.

On Wednesday, authorities announced the arrests of the following robbery suspects:

Dennis Campos-Torres, 22, of Richmond

Fati Johnson, 32, of Oakland

Keimaree Dews, 18, of San Francisco

Jonathan Caruso, 25, of San Francisco

Giovann Caliz, 32, of Livermore

Caliz, SJPD said, was already in custody for an unrelated crime in Santa Clara County and was extradited on Oct. 28 to San Jose.

Caruso was arrested Nov. 5 in San Francisco with the assistance of the San Jose Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

On Nov. 6, Campos-Torres and Johnson were arrested in Oakland and Dews was arrested in San Francisco.

The five suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for robbery charges.
