Yolo County Supervisor Oscar Villegas is set to host a Yolo Day from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) located at 400 Jibboom St. in Sacramento.

Yolo County residents are invited to enjoy a free, family-friendly day of discovery at one the region’s premier science museums.

“MOSAC offers an incredible opportunity to spark curiosity and inspire a love of learning in people of all ages,” Villegas stated via a local press release. “I am excited to invite Yolo County families to experience this space where science, creativity, and community come together. Events like this help ignite curiosity and remind us that learning can be both fun and transformative.”

Reopened in November 2021 in a newly renovated facility, the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) serves as a dynamic hub for scientific exploration, education, and workforce development in the Sacramento region.

With interactive exhibits spanning multiple scientific fields, visitors to MOSAC are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas and discover how science shapes the world around them.

Yolo Day invites Yolo County residents to experience MOSAC’s interactive exhibits, bringing science, technology, and nature to life. The event celebrates learning through play, encouraging families to explore together, spark curiosity and make lasting memories.

Supervisor Angel Barajas, who helped sponsor the event, echoed the importance of connecting local families with educational experiences.

“This partnership is a wonderful way to strengthen community ties and inspire the next generation of innovators,” Barajas stated. “I am proud to support an event that gives Yolo County residents the chance to explore, imagine, and learn together.”
