A suspect was arrested for homicide after a woman was found bleeding and unresponsive in a motel room in Orange County.

On Oct. 13, Costa Mesa police responded to a motel room in the 1500 block of South Coast Drive around 6 a.m.

Inside, police found the victim unresponsive. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries. She was identified as Yu Wang, 32, of Laguna Niguel.

The suspect, Max Blumencranz, 31, of Costa Mesa, was arrested at the scene for homicide. 

Further details, including the victim’s cause of death and how the suspect and victim knew each other, remain under investigation.

“Detectives are diligently investigating this case and to protect its integrity, CMPD will not release any further details,” police said. “CMPD will submit their case file to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.”
