The Fresno area will see rain, thunderstorms and potential flash floods as an atmospheric river-fueled storm rolls through Northern California, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm, which brought “gusty to high winds” to the Central Valley, could also result in heavy snow to the Sierra Nevada, the weather service said.

“An atmospheric river will continue to impact California through late Saturday/early Sunday,” the weather service wrote on X on Thursday, Nov. 13.

“Heavy rain will shift” from Central California to Southern California on Friday,” the weather service said in the X post. “Heavy precipitation may lead to scattered instances of flash flooding, especially near burn scars and steep terrain.”
