Los Angeles is about to welcome another swanky new hotel. Legendary hotelier Ian Schrager, the visionary behind Studio 54, EDITION Hotels, and the Mondrian, will debut PUBLIC West Hollywood, bringing his cult-favorite “luxury for all” concept to the West Coast for the very first time.

Set within the former Standard Hotel on the Sunset Strip, this 137-room property marks Schrager’s third return to L.A. Designed in collaboration with British architect John Pawson, PUBLIC West Hollywood will blend minimalist sophistication with Schrager’s signature style. Expect a poolside scene, a social hub lobby, and three destination restaurants and bars that will anchor the hotel as a gathering place for locals and travelers alike.

And to top it all off, a lush 16,000-square-foot rooftop terrace with panoramic views of Los Angeles, designed for golden hour. At its core, PUBLIC is built around service, style, entertainment, and immersive experiences, which can be seen at its sister property in New York’s Lower East Side. Reservations for Public West Hollywood will open in January 2026.
