Four schools and one hospital in Fullerton were locked down after receiving bomb threats throughout the day on Thursday, Nov. 13.

According to the Fullerton Police Department, the threats are believed to be non-credible and there were no explosives found at any of the sites.

St. Jude’s Medical Center Emergency Room, Sunny Hills High School, Fullerton Union High School, Troy High School and Fern Drive Elementary School all received threats.

The Fullerton Joint Union High School District — the district which all three of the affected high schools are a part of — wrote in a statement Thursday evening that “all shelter-in-place and lockdowns have now been lifted, and all campuses are clear and safe.”

Previously, the district announced that the three high schools, as well as La Vista/La Sierra High Schools, had implemented a Shelter-in-Place procedure.

According to the statement from the district, the threats were found to be non-credible and all school activities would resume as normal.

Fullerton police confirmed that officers were present at each of the schools Friday as a precaution and patrolled throughout the day.

During Troy High School’s lockdown, Cal State Fullerton students were advised to avoid campus near State College Boulevard and Dorothy Drive due to the threat, but were later informed that the area was safe.

Fullerton police stated that the threats received by the high schools were received via phone call.

CSUF issued a text warning at 1:54 p.m. informing students to avoid the area due to heavy police presence and at 3:04 p.m. stating that Troy High School students were being released for the day near CSUF building Titan Hall.

At 3:36 p.m., CSUF students were informed that the incident had been cleared and that students could return to the area.

Fullerton police are conducting active investigations into all five bomb threats.
