FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Video released from the Fresno Fire Department shows them in action as they rescued a man from a burning building in Fresno’s Chinatown.

Crews said on Nov. 9, around 11:30 p.m., they responded to a reported structure fire at 841 F Street in Fresno’s Chinatown district, where they found smoke coming from the vacant commercial building.

Responding firefighters immediately faced challenges accessing the flames as the building had reinforced security doors and bars on every window and entry point. Crews were forced to use rotary saws and hand tools to make their way inside.

Once they broke inside, crews reported finding an unconscious man whom they quickly rescued from the building and administered first aid on scene. He was transported to a local hospital, where he has since been released.

Firefighters are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and ask anyone with any additional information to contact Fresno Fire Investigators at 559-621-2776.
