(FOX 5/KUSI) — The forecast for air travelers out of Southern California is expected to be higher than last year, according to a recent report.
The Auto Club of Southern California released its holiday forecast on Monday, the same day the Federal Aviation Administration lifted restrictions on flights at major airports across the country.

The Auto Club predicts nearly seven million residents will be traveling at least 50 miles away from home during the Thanksgiving holiday travel period — about 7% higher than levels before the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 700,000 Southern California residents are expected to travel by air, a 3% increase from last year and a 12.5% increase from 2019.
Tis the season to keep pets safe and jolly
Top destinations for Thanksgiving include San Diego, Las Vegas, Disneyland, the Bay Area and nearby national parks, according to AAA booking data.
AAA advises travelers to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure time for domestic flights and three hours if traveling internationally.
In addition, the afternoons of Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving are expected to be the busiest pre-holiday travel times, with the following Sunday forecasted to be congested due to return traffic.
More information about the Thanksgiving travel forecast can be found on AAA’s website.
