The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday morning in the Mission District as 20-year-old Kaylyn Tafao Olomua.
The incident took place on 16th Street between Mission and Valencia at approximately 12:25 a.m., according to the San Francisco Police Department. The shooting left two people gravely injured, including Tafao, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, whose name has not been released, remains in critical condition.
Multiple witnesses said the shooting took place outside the Skylark bar.
An employee at Pachitas #2, which is next to Skylark, said he was working in the kitchen when the shooting took place and a crowd of people rushed into the restaurant for safety.
Another employee at K&H liquors, just down the block at the intersection of 16th and Valencia streets, said he heard about eight shots. He immediately locked the door and lay on the ground for safety.
Police officers later arrested 23-year-old Larry Hudgson Jr. in Visitacioj Valley as a suspect. He was booked into San Francisco county jail on a murder charge.
