  • November 19, 2025

PONTIAC, Mich. – A 41-year-old man from Waterford Township is being held without bond in the deadly shooting of a Pontiac man on Saturday, Nov. 15.

According to authorities, deputies were called to a home on Wall Street, between Jessie and Paddock streets, at about 6 a.m. on reports of a shooting. A resident said they found a bullet hole in the back door of their home, but no one was injured.

While deputies were responding, multiple 911 calls came in reporting a shooting. One caller said they witnessed a man being shot on Osmun Street, just south of the initial location.

Deputies found 36-year-old Deevon Cornea Brown, who had been shot, and rushed him to a hospital where he later died.

The suspected gunman, Anthony Louis Ward, was taken into custody that day.

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, Ward was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and two counts of using a firearm while in the commission of a felony.

He was denied bond and remanded to the Oakland County Jail.

Ward’s probable cause conference is scheduled for Dec. 2. If convicted, he faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison.
