What we know about the Thanksgiving forecast in Northern California so far
LOOKING LIKE SOME PERFECT RUNNING WEATHER. I KNOW IT’S FAR OUT AND A LOT CAN CHANGE, BUT FROM EVERYTHING THAT I’M SEEING RIGHT NOW, LIKELY DRY WITH LIGHT WINDS, A FEW CLOUDS HERE AND THERE, BUT HIGHS WILL BE AROUND 60 DEGREES ON THAT DAY AND UNSETTLED WEATHER WILL ARRIVE. BUT LATER ON THAT WEEKEND, I’M THINKING BLACK FRIDAY. WE MIGHT SEE SOME WIND, MAYBE SOME RAIN, BUT THANKSGIVING DAY ITSELF LOOKS GREAT. WHAT’S NOT CHANGING RIGHT NOW? 57 DEGREES AND TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO HOVER RIGHT AROUND THE SAME FOR THE HIGH BEFORE DROPPING BACK INTO THE 50S AFTER DINNER TIME. AND THAT’S BECAUSE WE’RE GOING TO GET MORE CLOUDS. IT’S PUSHING IN THROUGH THE WEST COAST RIGHT NOW AS OUR NEXT WEATHER SYSTEM DROPS OUT OF THE GULF OF ALASKA. THIS ONE IS FORECAST TO KIND OF HUG THE SIERRA AND THE WESTERN SLOPES BEFORE DROPPING DOWN. BECAUSE OF THIS INNER TRAJECTORY, THIS INLAND TRAJECTORY, IT’S GOING TO CARRY A LITTLE BIT MORE A LITTLE LESS MOISTURE THAN OUR LAST FEW SYSTEMS. SO LET’S BREAK IT DOWN IN DETAIL. ALL THE REST OF THE DAY. CLOUDS ARE GOING TO BE THE MAIN STORY UP UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. THAT’S WHEN OUR FIRST FORECAST DROP OF RAIN WILL ARRIVE, AND THEN A BAND OF RAIN WILL MOVE THROUGH FROM ABOUT 1:00 TO 5:00 IN THE MORNING. WE CAN EXPECT SOME LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN SHOWERS AS WE STEP OUT FOR YOUR MORNING COMMUTE. SHOULD BE MAINLY DRY BY THEN, BUT EXPECT WET ROADS, DRIZZLE AND MAYBE SOME MIST THE REST OF YOUR THURSDAY SHOULD BE DRY, BUT I THINK THE SYSTEM MIGHT WRAP SOME SHOWERS BACK AROUND, SO EXPECT SOME BRIEF LIGHT SHOWERS OVER THE COURSE OF YOUR THURSDAY. AS LATE AS THURSDAY EVENING. COULD GET A SHOWER HERE OR THERE BEFORE THINGS REALLY DRY OUT LATE THURSDAY NIGHT. BY THEN THIS IS HOW MUCH RAIN WE COULD GET IN THE VALLEY. A 10TH TO A FIFTH OF AN INCH IN THE FOOTHILLS, UP TO A HALF INCH OF RAIN IN THE COASTAL HILLS. WE’RE LOOKING AT ANYWHERE UP TO A QUARTER INCH IN THE SIERRA. MOSTLY SNOW, 1 TO 3IN ABOVE 5500FT. MOST OF THE RAIN SHOULD FALL BEFORE YOUR THURSDAY MORNING COMMUTE, BUT EXPECT WET ROADS, AREAS OF MIST AND DRIZZLE, AND ALSO SOME COLD AND CLAMMY WEATHER AS TEMPERATURES WALKING OUT TOMORROW, LIKELY IN THE UPPER 40S. LIGHT WINDS 5 TO 10MPH. BUT LOOKING AHEAD AT YOUR SEVEN DAYS LOOKS FANTASTIC. AFTER THE SHOWERS TOMORROW, WE WARM BACK IN THE LOW 60S FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND GUESS WHAT? WE HOLD ON TO THAT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THANKSGIVING DAY. YES, AND THEN THE MESSY WEATHER RETURNS. BUT IT WILL BE AFTER THANKSGIVING. SO WEATHER REALLY WORKING WITH US HERE. SO IT WILL BE DRY FOR RUN TO FEED THE HUNGRY BECAUSE I RAN IT IN YEARS WHERE IT WAS RAINING. IT’S JUST NOT AS FUN, NOT AS FUN
