Firefighters are battling a blaze on a container ship at the Port of Los Angeles, the nation’s busiest for maritime trade.
A water safety zone has been established around the One Henry Hudson and operations have stopped at four of the port’s seven container terminals, according to a Port of LA statement released late Friday. No injuries have been reported, and fire officials have recommended local residents stay indoors with windows closed because of the smoke.
