ARVIN, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An off-roading accident occurred on Rockpile Road near Arvin on Saturday afternoon, resulting in the death of a male passenger in his 20s and leaving the female driver, also in her 20s, with major injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 12:35 p.m. on Nov. 22, 2025, when the off-road vehicle, driven by the woman, veered off the road and collided with two trees. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was transported to Kern Medical Center.
The vehicle was found wrapped around a tree, and CPR was administered to the passenger upon officers’ arrival.
The Kern County Coroner was called to the scene just before 1 p.m.
