No one was wearing a seat belt in the crash along Fulton Avenue, just south of Marconi Avenue, that left a boy and two adults injured, the CHP said.
SACRAMENTO, Calif — A 5-year-old boy and two adults were hurt Sunday afternoon after a Sacramento County crash in which no one involved was wearing a seat belt, authorities said.
Just south of Marconi Avenue, a woman driving an SUV was trying to turn onto southbound Fulton Avenue from a parking lot on the east side of the road, per the California Highway Patrol. Officials first started releasing information around 1:45 p.m.Â
Vehicles in the No. 2 lane stopped, while a sedan in the No. 1 lane traveling at 40 mph broadsided the SUV on the driver’s side, law enforcement said.
The woman and a 5-year-old boy in the rear of the sedan were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, the CHP said. Other involved parties complained of pain. Three patients total were taken to the hospital, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said.
No one was wearing seat belts, according to law enforcement.
