SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Imaginarium, an annual festival held at Cal Expo that calls itself “Northern California’s largest winter light show,” postponed its opening due to technical difficulties.
A media representative for Cal Expo said the show’s opening day was delayed and that “all impacted guests will receive an extra complimentary ticket.” The event center is aiming to have the festival open by Thanksgiving.
According to a statement provided to ABC10 from Cal Expo representative Darla Givens and Imaginarium creator Lulu Huang, the reason for the delay is “due to damaged electrical panels that must be replaced before the event can open.” The event is unable to open until the replacement panels are installed.
“There are so many details that go into creating this magical moment for the holidays,” said Huang. “We want to make sure everything is perfect for our guests.”
