BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A crash involving a semi-truck and another vehicle that damaged a guardrail caused delays for drivers near the Grapevine Thursday afternoon and into the evening.
The collision was reported at around 2:15 p.m. in southbound lanes of I-5 just south of Grapevine Road, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page.
The semi-truck jackknifed from the collision and blocked multiple lanes. About 40 feet of guardrail was damaged in the crash, officials said.
The initial crash was cleared but several collisions were also reported along I-5 near the Grapevine as a storm made its way through Kern County. Traffic was slowed for several hours.
All lanes were open and I-5 remained open.
