The Ramona and Spring Valley Lions clubs and First Christian Church will be hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 1970 Vermont St. in Ramona. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage or scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy. Coffee, tea, cocoa and orange juice will also be served.

The breakfast will help raise funds for the Ramona Lions Club’s focus on environmental issues and vision in the community. Club members pick up litter each month on state Route 67/Main Street and collect unwanted eyeglasses at various locations.

In addition, they offer vision screening services, including free eyeglasses to those in need, to any group requesting them.

They also contribute to the Lions Clubs International Foundation with cash donations that help the foundation distribute millions of dollars to other causes.

Lions International, the world’s largest membership-based nonprofit organization, operates in over 200 countries with 1.4 million members. The 50,138 clubs worldwide include 51 in the San Diego and Imperial County District.
