Bakersfield checkpoint leads to six DUI arrests and 31 vehicle seizures on Union Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department released results from the DUI / Driver’s License Checkpoint that happened on Friday, November 21, 2025, in the 200 block of Union Avenue.

The checkpoint happened between 6 p.m. and midnight.

Results from the checkpoints were:

1,182 vehicles were screened by officers12 drivers were detained for further evaluation to determine their sobriety influence level.Six drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.19 drivers were cited for driving while unlicensed.6 drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license.31 vehicles were seized at the checkpoint. 21 of those vehicles were impounded and 10 were released to licensed drivers.

The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.
