A 12-year-old boy riding an e-bike was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Anaheim on Sunday night, according to police.
Video of the collision shows the boy entering an intersection on his bike just before a four-door Honda Accord strikes him. The impact sends him tumbling across the roadway. Police said the child suffered a broken leg and a concussion.
Neighbors who witnessed the crash recalled hearing the commotion outside their homes. One resident described turning around just in time to see the boy “ricochet” in front of a nearby house. The damaged e-bike and the Honda involved were left behind in the street.
The crash occurred near North Street at about 8:45 p.m., police said. After hitting the boy, the Honda collided with another vehicle on the street before coming to a stop. All occupants of the Honda then got out and ran from the scene, according to eye witnesses.

Hermosa Beach police investigate assault captured in circulating videos
A witness said they saw three people leave the vehicle, estimating they appeared to be in their early 20s. Investigators said the car was registered in Fullerton, and officers recovered items inside that suggested a possible DUI may have been involved. Detectives said they are pursuing several leads.
Anaheim police are continuing to investigate the hit-and-run.
