The Inner-City Games and Hollenbeck Police Business Council will distribute 1,000 turkeys and complete holiday sides to families Tuesday in its 44th annual Miracle on 1st Street Turkey Giveaway and Tree Lighting in Boyle Heights organizers announced.
The event will take place at the Hollenbeck Youth Center, 2015 E. First St., beginning with families lining up from 8 to 9:30 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Remarks recognizing the start of the holiday program are scheduled for 9:30 a.m., followed by the distribution of turkeys and sides from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, actor Tom Arnold, Sheriff Robert Luna and District Attorney Nathan Hochman are expected to attend.
