Cement truck overturns and spills cement, slowing traffic in south Sacramento area

THAT MORNING COMMUTE. THANKS, TAMARA. WE’LL START HERE ON THE SURFACE STREETS AT 47 AT STOCKTON BOULEVARD, WHERE WE HAVE AN OVERTURNED CEMENT TRUCK, AND YOU CAN SEE SPEED SENSORS THERE SHOWING SOME MINOR SLOWING. MIKE TESELLE HAS ARRIVED ON THE SCENE WITH AN UPDATE ON THAT CRASH. MIKE. YEAH, AND BRIAN, I’LL GIVE YOU THE VISUAL. I’LL STEP OUT OF THE WAY. THIS IS LITERALLY THE MIDDLE OF 47TH AVENUE, JUST TO THE WEST OF STOCKTON BOULEVARD. THAT IS A CEMENT TRUCK THAT IS ON ITS SIDE ON THE MEDIAN HERE. THE BAD NEWS IS, YOU KNOW, THAT IS A CEMENT TRUCK THAT APPEARS TO HAVE CEMENT IN IT. SO IT’S GOING TO BE QUITE A MESS TO TRY AND UPRIGHT THIS TRUCK. GET THIS OUT OF HERE. THE GOOD NEWS HERE IS IT APPEARS THE DRIVER IS RELATIVELY OKAY. AND THAT TRAFFIC IN BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN GET AROUND THIS. IT IS SLOW. IT’S ONE LANE ON BOTH SIDES. WHETHER YOU’RE COMING FROM 99 OR COMING FROM STOCKTON BOULEVARD. BUT KEEP IN MIND IT IS STILL AN ACTIVE SCENE AND QUITE A MESS OUT HERE. SO IF YOU ARE DRIVING ON 47TH AVENUE HERE AS PART OF YOUR MORNING COMMUTE, A LOT OF PEOPLE SLOWING DOWN TO TAKE A LOOK AT THIS ONE. THAT’S YOUR REASON FOR SLOWING. GOING TO BE HERE A WHILE, AS THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS NOW CLEARED THE SCENE AND NOW WAITING FOR THOSE CREWS TO GET HERE. AND ONCE THE BIG RIG REVEALS, YOU’LL SEE WHAT THAT TOW CREW HAS TO DEAL WITH TRYING TO UPRIGHT THAT CEMENT TRUCK. THIS YOUR LIVE LOOK? 47TH AVENUE, JUST EAST OF STOCKTON BOULEVARD. BRIAN. WELL, MIKE, I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR UPDATES ON THAT ONE BECAUSE I KNOW YOU DON’T JUST PUMP THAT STUFF OUT OF THERE, SO I DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY’RE GOING TO DO WITH THAT. BUT SO MIKE’S TELLING US IT’S JUST WEST. AND THAT WOULD EXPLAIN WHY WE’RE SEEING RED HERE JUST WEST OF
