The Ramona Community Foundation has given more than $27,000 in grants to six community organizations.
For 2025, the grant recipients were Hearts & Hooves Therapy, $3,500; ArtReach, $3,000; The Art Center Ramona, $3,000; Ramona TIP (Trauma Intervention Program), $4,500; Voices for Children, $4,500; and Ramona Town Hall, $2,500, said Bob Krysak, foundation chairm.
The recipients were notified in mid-November.
The RCF membership collectively decides who will get the yearly grants, Krysak said. The foundation typically chooses service organizations benefiting the youth and elderly.
To fund the grants, the Ramona organization collects yearly dues, which are matched by the San Diego Foundation.
“The funds are divided between an endowment which continues to grow and provides income for future distributions and ‘distributables,’ the amount that can be annually distributed to local Ramona community nonprofits,” Krysak said.
In its 13 years of existence, the partnership between the Ramona Community Foundation and the San Diego Foundation has distributed more than $500,000 in grants to local Ramona nonprofits.
“We are pleased to announce that our relationship with the San Diego Foundation has been strengthened and we continue to receive the matching funds and some administrative support from them,” Krysak said.
Krysak encouraged the public to learn more about the Ramona Community Foundation.
“The more members we have, the more we will be able to distribute to non-profits annually, so I would encourage everyone to consider joining us,” he said.
