BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The death of Luis Valenzuela Jr., 43, of Bakersfield, is now being investigated as a deadly assault, according to a Kern County coroner’s report.
Valenzuela was found dead on Nov. 22, 2025, inside a home in the 300 block of Valcluse Bay Drive, near South Union Avenue and East Berkshire Road.
The Bakersfield Police Department reported that officers were initially called to the home at 12:37 p.m. for a welfare check.

Upon arrival, they discovered Valenzuela’s body.
The coroner said that Valenzuela died at the scene at 2:15 p.m. from injuries related to an assault.
No suspect information has been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
