Sacramento deputies arrest a 17-year-old and 25-year-old Joseph Barrera after an armed robbery at a car show.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that took place at a car show in an unincorporated part of Sacramento County on Oct. 12.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was approached during the event by a 17-year-old boy who pulled out a knife, pressed it against the victim’s stomach and stole a chain necklace.

A second suspect, identified as 25-year-old Joseph Barrera, took the victim’s wallet, which contained several credit cards.

Both suspects fled in a vehicle and later used the stolen credit cards to make stolen purchases at a nearby liquor store and a Taco Bell, officials said.

Robbery detectives identified both suspects and obtained Ramey arrest warrants.

On Tuesday morning, detectives and the sheriff’s SWAT team located and arrested the 17-year-old and Barrera.

The juvenile was booked into Sacramento County Juvenile Hall. Barrera was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he is being held on $100,000 bail.
