BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 54-year-old motorcyclist was left with major injuries after a crash in northwest Bakersfield Tuesday afternoon.
The crash was reported around 3:14 p.m. in the area of Renfro Road and Greatest Place, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.
CHP said a 56-year-old man was traveling northbound on Renfro Road in a white van and making a left turn onto Greatest Place at about 10 mph.
At the same time, a 54-year-old motorcyclist was going southbound at an unknown speed. Officials said the van turned in front of the motorcycle and the motorcycle tried to swerve to avoid the crash.
The motorcyclist was taken to Kern Medical Center with major injuries.
CHP said DUI is not a factor in this crash.
