Lemon Grove Lions ClubLEMON GROVE:  Lions Club recognized for supporting local students
The Lemon Grove Lions Club received an honorary plaque at a recent Lemon Grove School District meeting. The plaque recognized the club’s involvement, along with other local charitable groups, that collected and distributed backpacks and school supplies to local students. “Helping our youth is helping our future,” said Lemon Grove Lions Club president Ken Burke. The mission of the Lemon Grove Lions Club is to serve the community through projects that support education, vision, hunger relief and local needs. The nonprofit Logan Heights Community Development Corp. is collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys for its annual holiday toy drive, Toys for Kids, which will help 200 families and a total of roughly 570 children from infancy to age 17.
