FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Drivers in Fresno will soon need to plan ahead as the city gets ready to repave a large section of northwest Fresno.
As part of Mayor Jerry Dyer’s Pave More Now initiative, crews will be working on First Street between Bullard and Sierra starting Monday, Oct. 20.
To minimize disruptions to traffic and nearby schools, including Ahwahnee Middle School, most work will take place overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Drivers can expect lane reductions and a temporary closure at the intersection of First and Bullard while crews repave the area.

Monday, Oct. 20: Manhole work, both northbound and southbound lanesTuesday, Oct. 21: Grinding, both directionsWednesday, Oct. 22: Repaving, both directionsThursday, Oct. 23: Grinding and paving at First and Bullard intersectionSunday, Oct. 26: Additional manhole work, both directionsTuesday–Wednesday, Oct. 28–29: Striping, both directions
Officials say the schedule is subject to change depending on weather or other construction delays.
