Seven suspects were arrested during a retail theft bust operation in Ventura County.
The single-day operation took place at the Camarillo Premium Outlets on Nov. 22, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Nearly $1,500 worth of stolen property was discovered by officers, along with burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were identified as:
Segundo Ramirez-Zena, 26, Simi Valley
Gabriela Sarmiento, 27, Simi Valley
Shawndrea Gay, 36, of Georgia
Danta Jones, 48, of Georgia
Javier Avila, 44, Oxnard
Amy Estrada, 53, Thousand Oaks
Nick Lee Estrada, 57, Thousand Oaks
All suspects were arrested for one felony count of conspiracy to commit a crime.
Other charges varied among suspects, including retail theft, wanted on warrants, possession of burglary tools, possession of forged documents, possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false information to an officer and more.
The Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force is comprised of detectives from various agencies within Ventura County focused on combating organized retail theft, vehicle/vehicle parts theft and cargo theft.
“A blitz operation is a saturation of resources and law enforcement personnel concentrated on multiple retail establishments to combat retail theft,” the sheriff’s office explained. “This Pre-Black Friday event was a collaboration between law enforcement, Outlet retailers and the Outlet’s security personnel. Additionally, law enforcement will be present at the Camarillo Outlets and surrounding shopping centers during the upcoming Black Friday shopping weekend.”
