BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A woman was shot and killed Wednesday evening at a northwest Bakersfield home and a man arrested after a nearby crash police say was related to the homicide investigation.

Manuel Robles, 37, was arrested on suspicion of murder, spousal abuse and child cruelty, according to a Bakersfield Police Department release and booking information. He’s due in court next week.

Police say the woman, whose name hasn’t been released, was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds at 9:23 p.m. in the 6200 block of Tallulah Falls Court, north of Olive Drive and west of Calloway Drive.

A minute later, officers were sent to the intersection of Hageman Road and Calloway Drive to a crash that was determined to be related to the shooting. The intersection was closed but has since reopened.
