The Children’s Waiting Rooms, operated in partnership with Catalyst Community, offer supervised care for children while parents or guardians attend court hearings or appointments, according to court officials.

The spaces are staffed by trained childcare professionals and include toys, games and art activities.
The service is free and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each child and guardian receive matching wristbands, and children are released only to the adult with the corresponding band, a news release issued Thursday noted.
Children must be 2-12 years old, in good health, and fully potty-trained. Visits are limited to four hours per day, three times a week.
The waiting rooms are located at the Family Justice Center Courthouse in San Jose and the South County Courthouse in Morgan Hill. Both are open Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closing from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.
