Re “San Diego has ticketed thousands of cars for parking too close to intersections” (Oct. 5): Why don’t we stop putting in more underutilized bike lanes and use the revenue the city is receiving from the tickets being given out for parking too close to corners to actually paint the curbs red so we all don’t have to carry measuring tape in our pockets?

We frequent the zoo every Friday and the signage, green lanes and designated bus lanes are so confusing — going to and from the freeway — that I can only imagine how confused and frustrated tourists and people unfamiliar with the area must feel. To say we’re “America’s Finest City” is laughable at this point.

Paint the curbs, please, and stop adding bike lanes that aren’t being used.
