BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County experienced fog early Friday morning.
The National Weather Service issued a Dense Fog Advisory until Friday morning at 10 a.m.
The National Weather Service said if encountering low visibilities, slow down, turn on low beams, and leave plenty of distance between you and other vehicles.
Eyewitness News morning forecaster Aaron Perlman explained how the fog forms, saying the recent rainfall has kept the ground damp. Moisture is trying to lift being pushed down from the warm air overhead and that is from the ridge of high pressure. It creates and inversion layer allowing for the fog / Tule fog to hold.
