DECEMBER 19TH. FAMILIES ARE DUSTING OFF THEIR BOXES OF HOLIDAY LIGHTS AND ORNAMENTS. WE STOPPED BY THE FAB 40 IN EAST SACRAMENTO. IT’S ONE OF THE MOST WELL-VISITED AREAS IN THE REGION AT THIS TIME OF YEAR. THOUSANDS DRIVE BY THE AREA TO TAKE IN THE HOLIDAY LIGHT DISPLAYS. IT’S REALLY BUSY AROUND HERE AND CARS WILL SLOW DOWN TO STOP AND LOOK AT THE LIGHTS AND WE SOMETIMES EVEN GET CHRISTMAS CAROLERS COMING UP TO THE DOOR. AND SO IT CREATES THIS KIND OF CHRISTMAS ATMOSPHERE. WE’RE REALLY FORTUNATE. EVERYONE ON THE STREET REALLY PITCHES IN. PEOPLE GO ALL OUT. PRETTY ELABORATE STUFF. Preparations begin for dazzling holiday displays in Sacramento’s Fab 40s neighborhood

With Thanksgiving over, families in East Sacramento’s Fab 40s neighborhood are dusting off their boxes of holiday lights and ornaments to create a festive atmosphere that draws thousands of visitors each year.”It gets really busy around here, cars will slow down to stop and look at the lights, we sometimes even get Christmas carolers,” said Ethan Caudillo, who lives in the Fab 40s. “It creates this kind of Christmas atmosphere.”Around this time of year, the neighborhood, located on 40th through 49th streets between J Street and Folsom Boulevard, draws massive crowds taking in the dazzling displays.
