FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Police Department has introduced Savannah, the department’s first therapy dog.

Savannah is currently going through training to complete her certification.

However, once she is done, she will be helping officers and the community who are going through traumatic events.

Savannah was adopted by the department from a local shelter.

The Fresno Police Department does encourage the community who may be interested in a dog to visit a local shelter.
