BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Delano City Council is set to elect a mayor and mayor pro tem during its meeting on Monday.

The current mayor is Liz Morris.

The mayor and mayor pro tem are appointed by the City Council each year during their first meeting in December, according to the Delano Municipal Code.

The mayor and mayor pro tem are each selected to serve one-year terms.

To be eligible for mayor, a council member has to serve on the City Council for at least one year, according to city code.

The mayor and mayor pro tem are set to be elected during the Delano City Council special meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1 at 1015 11th Ave.
