San Jose Sharks forwards Michael Misa and Jeff Skinner have both been out of the lineup for an extended period.

Both players suffered lower-body injuries: Misa on Nov. 5, before the game against the Seattle Kraken, and Skinner on Nov. 13 against the Calgary Flames.

On Nov. 21, the Sharks forwards returned to the ice on their own. Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky has said both players are progressing well. Misa has even caught up to Skinner’s recovery timeline.

Skinner was considered to be on a roughly two-week absence, with Misa “a little further behind.” Warsofsky told reporters on Thursday that Misa is maybe “24 hours” behind Skinner.

The San Jose Sharks are also hoping to get both players back at practice on Tuesday. After beating the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on Friday, the team traveled to face the Vegas Golden Knights.

The team won’t skate on Sunday, then has a game against the Utah Mammoth on Monday, so the next practice opportunity is Tuesday.

Warsofsky says the hope is to get Misa and Skinner back at #SJSharks practice next Tuesday— Max Miller (@Real_Max_Miller) November 27, 2025

“We’ll practice Tuesday. We hope to have them in practice on Tuesday,” Warsofsky said. “We’re rolling 12 forwards. It’s been a challenge to get through it, but it is what it is.

We miss Skinner on the power play and creating some offense. Misa is continuing to develop as a young center. It was another option. There’s still a lot of hockey before then, so we’re gonna get through that.”

Warsofksy was asked whether there is a plan to send Misa to the San Jose Barracuda for a conditioning assignment.

“We’ll talk to Mike [Grier]. I’m not really sure,” Warsofsky said.

The 2025 NHL Draft No. 2 overall pick is getting closer, and it is only a matter of time before he’s back in San Jose Sharks teal.
