Hundreds of cyclists are expected to participate in the eighth annual Cycle of Hope fundraiser sponsored by Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Riders in the 100-kilometer Metric Century will leave from the Dublin headquarters of Patelco Credit Union, 3 Park Place, at 7:30 a.m. The credit union will also serve as the finish line.

There will also be 13-mile and 33-mile bike routes, and an off-street Kids Ride for those 10 and under.

There will be family friendly activities, including bounce houses, face painting and helmet-decorating, along with food and entertainment following the rides.

“Anyone who lives in the Bay Area can feel the housing crisis in their life, and Cycle of Hope offers a tangible way to take action,” said Janice Jensen, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. “Cycle of Hope riders have seen whole communities come to fruition and lives altered as a result of their efforts, and this year, the impact will be felt even more deeply.”

Habitat for Humanity currently has building projects underway in Hayward, Walnut Creek and San Jose.
