At-risk missing Sacramento man critically injured after hit by vehicle, police say

A man who was reported missing in Sacramento was found hours later after he was hit by a vehicle on Saturday night, according to the police department. David Zoellner, 61, was reported missing after he was last seen around 8 a.m. in the 3000 block of Marysville Boulevard. Sacramento police said he was at risk due to mental health and medical conditions. Around 9:30 p.m., Sacramento police responded to the report of a pedestrian struck in the area of Rio Linda Boulevard and Ford Road. The pedestrian was identified as Zoellner. He was taken to an area hospital, and as of Sunday evening, he remained in critical, but stable condition, officials said.
