OAKLAND, Calif. (FOX26) — A man was arrested after a traffic stop revealed that the man had a passenger who was being exploited for money, CHP says.

CHP pulled over a car for an expired registration, but during the stop, the officer noticed a passenger dressed in a way that raised red flags for prostitution on November 21st.

A search of the car also revealed evidence of pimping activity.

The man and the passenger were separated.

The passenger then told the CHP officer that they were being sexually exploited for money.

The driver was arrested and is now facing several charges.

CHP says human trafficking often hides in plain sight, and they’re continuing to target it through enforcement and community partnerships.
