BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield coffee shop is bringing the magical world of Harry Potter to town this week.

Covenant Coffee, a nonprofit coffee shop that aims to educate and employ current and former foster youth, is hosting “Holidays at Hogwarts” through Dec. 6 at its location at the Stockdale Towers at 5060 California Ave.

The shop features Hogwarts decorations and Harry Potter-themed drinks, such as Peppermint Owl Latte, Hogsmeade Hazelnut Brew, Gryffindor Gingerbread Cappuccino, Chocolate Cauldron and more.

Shafter to host annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Sing

On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., young witches and wizards are invited to the shop for a morning of magic and activities, organizers said.

Shelby Woolley, director of operations at Covenant Coffee, said guests can also share the joy with others for this year’s holiday.

“We have little Christmas trees at both of our locations, and on them are little tags. On the back of them they have certain ages of kids, so you can grab a tag — as many as you want — get a gift, bring it back with the tag and you can help make somebody’s Christmas,” said Woolley.
