Torey Edwards of Virginia Country Club (Long Beach, Calif.) returned to familiar territory on Monday, firing a steady 2-under 70 to win the 55th SCGA Tournament of Club Champions at El Niguel Country Club. The victory marks Edwards’ second title at the event—his first coming in 2017 at Saticoy Country Club.
Edwards edged out Mason Johnson from Carlsbad and Brian Blalock from Yucaipa, who posted matching rounds of 1-under 71 to share runner-up honors. Only three players in the 99-man field managed to break par on a firm, fast El Niguel layout that demanded precision from tee to green.
