BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The City of Bakersfield said overnight closures are scheduled for sections of Highway 99 and Highway 58 this week to remove falsework, starting Tuesday overnight.
Highway 99:
On Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., southbound Highway 99 between Stockdale Highway and Ming Avenue will be closed. Drivers will be detoured to the Stockdale Highway exit, turn left onto Stockdale, then right onto Wible Road. Then they will turn right on westbound Ming Avenue, then left to enter the southbound Highway 99 on-ramp.On Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., northbound 99 between Ming Avenue and Stockdale Highway will be closed, including the Ming Avenue on-ramp to northbound 99. Drivers will be detoured to Ming Avenue, then to turn right onto Wible Road. Then, they will take a left onto California Avenue before entering the northbound Highway 99 on-ramp.
The same closure is expected to be in place on Thursday during the same hours, said the city.
The city notes that northbound 99 to eastbound and westbound Highway 58 will remain open during these closures.
Westbound Highway 58 to northbound Highway 99 connector ramp:
On Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the westbound Highway 58 to northbound Highway 99 connector ramp is expected to be fully closed. Crews will saw-cut existing pavement. During this closure, drivers will be detoured to the Chester Avenue exit, then turn right onto Chester, then left onto Brundage Lane. From there, they will take a right onto Oak Street, then left onto California Avenue before entering the northbound Highway 99 on-ramp.Comment with Bubbles
