BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 31-year-old man was arrested in Long Beach after authorities linked him to multiple retail thefts, including one in Barstow where he allegedly stole $1,800 worth of merchandise.
Oficers responded to a reported theft on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at approximately 11:19 a.m.
The incident occurred at a business in the 2700 block of Tanger Way. Witnesses reported that a Hispanic male adult entered the store, took merchandise, and fled the scene.
According to a written statement from the Barstow Police Department, responding officers were able to obtain the license plate of the suspect vehicle and entered it into a law enforcement database. Allied agencies were alerted about the theft.
Later that day, at around 4:42 p.m., the California Highway Patrol Retail Task Force located the suspect vehicle in Long Beach.
The suspect, identified as Alejandro Delarosa, a resident of Orange, was arrested after allegedly committing another theft at a location belonging to the same retail chain.
Barstow Police officers assisted the CHP Retail Task Force with the ongoing investigation. Authorities discovered that Delarosa was linked to numerous thefts across different counties. During the course of the investigation, officers recovered over $10,000 in stolen merchandise.
Delarosa was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail for PC 459 – Commercial Burglary.
