US fast-casual salad chain Sweetgreen has further expanded its national footprint with its foray into Sacramento, California.
The company launched its first Sacramento outlet on 2 December in Midtown, at 1629 S Street.
A second restaurant in the city is scheduled to open in mid-December at Fair Oaks + Howe, 2080 Fair Oaks Boulevard.
The Midtown site spans 2,119ft² and provides 20 indoor seats and 14 patio seats. It operates daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Sweetgreen said it is bringing its “chef-driven” menu to Sacramento.
The offer includes dishes such as the Harvest Bowl, Crispy Rice Bowl and Miso Glazed Salmon, alongside seasonal items including the Garlic Parm Cauli Bowl and Chicken Cauli Plate.
On the first day of trading in Midtown, the chain pledged to donate one meal to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services for each meal purchased, to support people in Sacramento County facing food insecurity.
Customers can place orders in person, via the company’s website or through the Sweetgreen mobile app.
The app links to the SG Rewards programme, under which members secure 10 points per eligible dollar spent, gaining access to exclusive deals and free favourites.
Further information on the Fair Oaks + Howe opening is expected closer to the launch date, the company said.
Sweetgreen co-founder and CEO Jonathan Neman said: “Midtown and Fair Oaks are vibrant, welcoming neighbourhoods, and we’re looking forward to bringing our fresh, made-from-scratch food to the community as we continue expanding into new markets, including our recent openings in Arizona and Arkansas.”
In September 2025, Sweetgreen announced its entry into Arizona with two new restaurants planned in the state, one at Scottsdale Quarter and another at Camelback + 32nd in Phoenix.
“Sweetgreen expands US presence with Sacramento debut” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
