CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A popular cheese sold by five different brands was recalled because it may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.
According to a recall report from the Food and Drug Administration, multiple Pecorino Romano products manufactured by the Ambriola Company and sold by five different brands were recalled because they may be contaminated by listeria monocytogenes, which could induce listeria in a customer.
“Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women,” the FDA wrote.
The affected brands were: Ambriola, Locatelli, Member’s Mark, Pinna, and Boar’s Head.
The recalled products were:

Customers who purchased the affected items were urged to dispose of them immediately or to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
